Third Lady/The Magic Flute/Tri-Cities Opera

In what will be my last show with TCO, I'm singing Dritte Dame in Mozart's beautiful, incredible opera Die Zauberflöte.  Tri-Cities Opera has been my musical home for almost three years, and I will miss it!

Chuck Hudson directs what is sure to be a stunning production, visually, musically, and dramatically!

April 27th at 8P.M., and April 29th at 3 P.M. at the Forum Theater in Binghamton.  For tickets and information visit www.tricitiesopera.com

Angelica/The Poisoned Kiss/Bronx Opera

I am very much enjoying the role of Angelica, the feisty maid (is there any other kind in opera?) to Tormentilla, who keeps everything under control while falling in love, eavesdropping, and mixing poisons for her demanding bosses. Featuring a mean Scotch-Irish accent.

Update! We got a great review in Opera News.  Here's what they had to say about me:

"Jacobsen was by turns saucy, exasperated, and man-hungry, exhibiting a wonderfully limber physicality.  Her refreshingly comprehensible Irish accent was a clear extension of her character, rather than an affectation."

A witty and delightful production directed and conducted by Ben and Michael Spierman, two fellow Bronx Science alums.

In the Bronx at the Lovinger Theater: Sunday, January 15th at 2 P.M.

In Manhattan at the Kaye Playhouse: Saturday, January 21st at 7:30 P.M.

Suzuki/Madama Butterfly/Tri-Cities Opera

Suzuki, bring me my oggetti da donna.  Suzuki, bring me the tea.  Suzuki, bring me my love-child.  Suzuki, open the shoji.  No, close them.  Wait, no, open them.  While kneeling.  Faster!  But silently.  Ring the bell.  Do it again.  Are you crying?  Jeez.

A truly gorgeous production, visually and musically.  Under the direction of Jake Gardner and the baton of John Di Costanzo.

In Binghamton at the Forum Theater on October 21st and 23rd, 2011

Cherubino/Opera North/W.A. Mozart

I play the love-sick page to Count Almaviva, who learns some life lessons and shares his prodigious...talents with anyone who will listen. Well, anyone female. Mozart and da Ponte's sublime comedy is truly a gift to humanity.

A beautiful production, directed by Michael Shell and conducted by Louis Burkot.

August 6th, 11th, 13th, 17th, and 19th 2011 at the Lebanon Opera House in Lebanon, N.H.
